the Project
Run by Complex Fluids Research Group at Swansea University and Oriel Science, Flow Lab is all about collaboration.
We will be engaging and mentoring brilliant engineers from across South Wales to co-design and co-deliver fun, interactive activities that reveal the fascinating ways flow shapes our world—in research, in industry, and in daily life.
Together, we’ll bring these activities to life in schools and at public events inspiring young minds and local communities.

Workshops & EVENTS
There are many exciting ways to join our Flow Lab.
Engineers, team up with fellow professionals from across South Wales and the Oriel Science team to broaden your skills in science communication! Explore creative uses of materials like slime, oobleck, foams, and hydrophobic sand—and discover why engineering is far more exciting (and accessible) than you might think.
